25 Years of Britain's Best Butchers ? Somerset Food & Drink

Jon Thorner?s is donating 10p for every pack of sausages sold to the NSPCC ChildLine.

The butcher, with meat counters across Somerset, is helping to celebrate 25 years of the Q Guild of Butchers, an elite organisation representing 120 of the best butchers across the country. Between 5th and 18th March any pack of Jon Thorner?s sausages bought at their farm shop in Pylle or at their 5 other butchery counters acrossSomerset, the local businessman will give 10p to national charity ChildLine, who are also celebrating 25 years this year. This includes their award winning sausage varieties, such as the Great Taste Gold Award winners, Old English andToulouse.

Jon Thorner, who is also the South West chairman of the Q Guild, said, ?We are very proud to be part of the Q Guild and wanted to mark its silver anniversary and share the celebration with our customers.?

Since ChildLine launched 25 years ago, over 2.6 million children and young people have been counselled by the free, 24 hour service. Set up by Esther Rantzen in 1986, ChildLine now offers counselling by phone and online.

The Q Guild has been promoting traditional craft skills and award winning meat products, since 1986. Its members stretch across theUK, from Shetland toCornwall, serving ?3 million worth of meat and related products to over a quarter of a millionUKconsumers every week.

The Q Guild is aiming to raise ?14,000 for ChildLine during its 25th year.
